Job Description
This is a one-year fixed-term contract role.
As a Payments Specialist, you'll take full ownership of payment operations for assigned legal entities, ensuring every outgoing payment 64 from supplier invoices and salary-related transfers to tax obligations 64 lands accurately and on time. You'll work closely with Treasury, Finance, and external banking partners to keep liquidity in check and operations uninterrupted, even during peaks or team absences.
This role sits at the intersection of operational precision and cross-functional collaboration. You'll troubleshoot payment discrepancies, support business continuity across the team, and actively contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives. - Manage and execute payment activities for assigned legal entities, including supplier payments, expense reimbursements, salary-related payments and transfers, tax payments, and other corporate payments, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal procedures.
- Monitor funding requirements for assigned entities and payment accounts, working closely with Treasury and other stakeholders to ensure sufficient liquidity and uninterrupted payment operations.
- Investigate and resolve payment-related issues and discrepancies, collaborating with internal teams, banks, suppliers, and other external parties as needed.
- Support business continuity by providing payment processing coverage for additional entities and countries during team member absences, vacations, and other periods of increased operational demand.
- Actively identify/contribute opportunities to improve, standardize, and automate payment processes, participating in system implementations, testing activities, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Perform other duties and tasks related to payment operations as assigned.
Requirements
- You have a background in payment operations, accounts payable, treasury, or a similar finance function.
- You have a solid understanding of accounting principles and how payment transactions flow through financial records.
- You have strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy 64 you catch discrepancies before they become problems.
- You can prioritise independently, work at pace, and deliver results in a fast-moving environment.
- You're confident working with ERP systems and electronic banking platforms; experience with Workday or Kyriba is a bonus.
- You communicate clearly and confidently in English, both in writing and in conversation, and can coordinate effectively across teams and with external partners.
