Job Description
About Bolt
Bolt is shaping a future where cities are built for people, not cars. What started as an ambitious project of a 19-year-old in 2013 has grown into a global mobility platform used by more than 200 million customers and 4.5 million driver and courier partners across 50 countries.
From ride-hailing and food delivery to scooters, e-bikes, and car-sharing, Bolt helps people move through cities every day. Small, autonomous teams drive this work, combining the speed and ownership of a startup with the scale of a global technology company backed by more than 1bn in funding.
And we're just getting started.
About the role
As Strategy & Operations Manager, you will support the Chief of Staff and the Head of Autonomous Driving - turning ambiguous, high-priority challenges into structured plans and measurable outcomes. You will own critical workstreams that sit at the intersection of strategy, finance, and operations, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to keep the programme moving at pace.
This is not an execution-only role. You will shape how the team makes decisions, allocates resources, and presents itself externally - influencing outcomes that are fundamental to the future of the programme.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end project management for institutional funding opportunities, including EU and government grants. Coordinate across internal teams (Legal, Public Policy, Finance, Engineering) and external advisors to prepare compelling business plans, application documentation, and compliance materials
- Partner with senior leadership on strategic decision making by preparing market analyses (TAM, unit economics, competitive intelligence, regulatory landscape), detailed multi-scenario financial models and business cases
- Own the annual and quarterly budgeting cycle for the Autonomous Driving programme. Track budget vs. actuals, identify variances, and drive corrective action. Coordinate with central FP&A and Accounting teams on budget submissions, asset capitalisation, and financial reporting
- Provide structured analysis and recommendations to support high-stakes decisions. Build frameworks for evaluating market opportunities, operational trade-offs, and investment priorities, and distil complex information into concise outputs for senior leadership
- Act as the connective tissue between the Autonomous Driving team and the rest of the organisation - Finance, Legal, Public Policy, Corporate Finance, and others - to drive alignment and accelerate execution
Requirements
- Significant experience in strategy, investment banking, management consulting, or a high-growth tech or venture environment
- Strong financial modelling skills, with experience building business plans, scenario analyses etc.
- Proven track record managing complex, cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills - able to translate complex analysis into clear, compelling narratives for senior audiences
- Highly structured and self-directed, with the ability to operate with ambiguity and drive clarity independently
Nice to have
- Experience with institutional funding applications or grant management is a strong advantage
Company offers
- Accelerate your professional growth with unique career opportunities.
- Enjoy a rewarding salary and stock options, knowing that as Bolt succeeds, so do you.
- Take care of your physical and mental health with our wellness perks.
- Celebrate 5 years at Bolt with a 1-month paid sabbatical to recharge.
- Connect with colleagues at annual company events and smaller team gatherings.
- Balance flexibility and in-person collaboration with our hybrid model, including at least 12 monthly in-office days.
