Mõne aasta eest selgus, et kahel Eesti suurettevõttel on sarnane visioon optimaalsest strateegiast transpordisektori kliimaneutraalsuse saavutamiseks. Tänaseks omab Alexela ja Infortari poolt loodud ühisfirma Eesti Biogaas osalust kolmes rohegaasijaamas ning on nendesse investeerinud kokku 11 miljonit eurot.
Vinni Biogaasi ja Tartu Biogaasi põhitegevus on kodumaise transpordikütuse tootmine põllumajandus- ja toiduainetööstuse jääkidest. Täiendavalt saab koostootmise režiimis elektri- ja soojusenergiat kogu Vinni ja Ilmatsalu alevik. Kääritusprotsessist alles jääv digestaat on suurepärane väetis kohalikele põldudele. Rohegaasi tootmist alustati 2020, samal aastal väljastas SA Taaskasutatavate Materjalide Sertifitseerimiskeskus Vinni Biogaasile esimese kääritusjäägi tootmise sertifikaadi Eestis.
Oisu Biogaasi põhitegevuseks oli algselt rohelise elektri- ja soojusenergia tootmine põllumajandusjäätmetest, toodetud soojust kasutatakse Oisu aleviku kütmiseks. 2021. aasta kevadel lisati kompleksile rafineerimisseade ning hakati valmistama rohegaasi. Oisu jaamas omab 40% osalust põllumajandusettevõte Estonia OÜ.
A few years ago, it became clear that two major Estonian companies had a similar vision of an optimal strategy for achieving climate neutrality in the transport sector. Today, the joint venture Eesti Biogaas, created by Alexela and Infortar, holds stakes in three renewable gas stations and has invested a total of 11 million euros in them.
The main activities of Vinni Biogas and Tartu Biogas are the production of domestic transport fuel from agricultural and food industry residues. Additionally, in cogeneration mode, electricity and thermal energy are supplied to the entire villages of Vinni and Ilmatsalu. The digestate remaining from the fermentation process is an excellent fertilizer for local fields. The production of renewable gas began in 2020, and in the same year, the Recyclable Materials Certification Center issued the first fermentation residue production certificate in Estonia to Vinni Biogas.
The main activity of Oisu Biogas was initially the production of green electricity and thermal energy from agricultural waste, and the heat produced is used for heating the village of Oisu. In the spring of 2021, a refining unit was added to the complex, and the production of renewable gas began. The agricultural company Estonia OÜ holds a 40% share in the Oisu plant.
