Bodyguard Shift Leader

The U.S. Mission in Estonia is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the Bodyguard Shift Leader in the Tallinn office.

Duties:

  • Serves as team lead of the Bodyguards.
  • Provides onsite leadership for the Bodyguards.
  • Makes protection operational decisions, and mentors and guide Bodyguards on the team.
  • Responsible for documenting performance concerns and security incidents.
  • Assists in planning and organizing the work of and schedules for the Bodyguards.
  • Conduct comprehensive security surveys.
  • Provides personal protective security to the Chief of Mission or designated protectee
  • Maintains liaison with local government law enforcement and security officials, protocol offices and local security in various jurisdictions throughout the country.
  • May conduct advance security planning at all venues as well as primary, secondary and emergency route planning.
  • Establishes and builds relationships with mid-level and senior Etonian officials from law enforcement, protocol and local security elements.

Ootused kandidaadile

  • A minimum of three (3) years of private sector, government, police, or military experience in one or more of the following categories: bodyguard, armed escort, law enforcement officer, combat arms or infantry soldier, or other related professional security experience. 
  • At least six (6) months in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Completion of secondary education, high school diploma, or the local equivalent.
  • Good working knowledge of Estonian and English is required
  • Ability to take initiative and show resourcefulness in accomplishing tasks.
  • Ability in leadership and interpersonal relations.
  • Ability to work on a computer.
  • Ability to work variable shifts, 24 hour on-call schedule.
  • Ability to travel outside capital city on an as needed basis.
  • Ability to be alert, exercise fast reflexes and active thinking, implement excellent observational skills, adaptation, take decisive actions and stay calm in dangerous situations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Skill in the use of a firearm.
  • Ability to maintain physical fitness and endure frequent travel, long working hours in a stressful working environment while maintaining the above standards.
  • This position may serve as a driver for the protectee and should have high skills of defensive driving techniques.
