Music Teacher (8h/week)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring IB MYP Music Teacher to join our international school community for the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. The ideal candidate is a passionate educator who embraces the IB philosophy, is enthusiastic about creative teaching, and is committed to fostering students’ musical skills, creativity, and appreciation across diverse genres and cultures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based Music lessons that develop students’ skills in performance, composition, and musical literacy.

  • Inspire creativity and self-expression through a variety of musical experiences, both individual and collaborative.

  • Integrate technology and modern teaching approaches to support music learning and performance.

  • Encourage students to explore connections between music and other disciplines as part of the IB interdisciplinary approach.

  • Organize and lead music-related events such as performances, concerts, or talent showcases.

  • Collaborate with colleagues across subjects to create holistic, cross-curricular learning experiences.

  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to help students reach their full potential.

  • Participate in professional development opportunities and stay updated on IB curriculum developments.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music Education, Music, or a related field.

  • Valid teaching certification and/or qualification.

  • Strong understanding of inquiry-based learning and the IB learner profile.

  • English language proficiency at C1 level or higher (both spoken and written).

This is a part-time temporary position (8 hours per week, End of January – Mid-June 2026) with the opportunity to extend the collaboration based on mutual agreement.
