We are looking for an Health, Safety and Environment Manager who brings energy, direction, and passion for building a safe, sustainable, and high‑performance workplace. In this key role, you will collaborate with leaders, employees, contractors, and external stakeholders to advance ABB’s HSE standards, strengthen compliance, and foster continuous improvement across the organization.
You will lead our unit HSE community: a group of experts covering health, safety, electrical safety, sustainability, ergonomics, energy management, mental health, and wellbeing—ensuring strong collaboration and shared ownership of our HSE goals.
Reporting directly to the Local Business Unit Manager, you will help shape site‑level strategy and actively contribute to ABB’s global HSE network. This position offers an opportunity to influence culture, elevate performance, and support a workplace where safety and wellbeing are firmly embedded in everyday operations.
This role is contributing to the Motion High Power division in Estonia.
You will be mainly accountable for:

Developing a learning-driven HSE culture by serving as the primary HSE interface, leading the local HSE community, and partnering with production, engineering, and leadership teams to implement best practices.

Ensuring robust HSE systems and capabilities, optimizing processes and tools, and implementing ABB policies, standards, and management systems.

Managing risk prevention activities, including HSE risk assessments, preventive actions, and full incident reporting, investigation, and lessons-learned processes.

Promoting continuous improvement and operational excellence by identifying training needs, organizing and delivering HSE training, and supporting competence development across the organization.

Managing HSE performance and compliance, ensuring internal and external audit readiness, monitoring progress, and reporting HSE performance and trends.

Engaging stakeholders across the value chain to increase commitment to HSE objectives and representing Drives Estonia within the global HSE stakeholder network.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.

Experience and knowledge in occupational health, safety, and environmental management, preferably within manufacturing or industrial operations.

Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving skills, and a structured, process‑driven approach.

Capability to cultivate an inclusive, educational environment where team members are comfortable owning outcomes and collaborating to improve.

Effective teamworking skills paired with an initiative-taking, development-focused attitude.

Fluent in Estonian and English; Russian language skills are beneficial.

Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
