Job Description
Are you ready to make a direct impact on the quality and reliability of world-class consumer electronics? We are looking for a dedicated Failure Analysis Engineer to join our team and help ensure our products perform flawlessly from the production line to the end user.
Initially, your main focus will be getting to know our production failures and failure types. You will work in close coordination with Oura to sort out production failures by testing the rings with the Oura Ring Tool software (SW). As you grow in the role, you will take on more sophisticated failure analysis (such as teardowns) and perform failure trend analysis to drive yield improvement and product reliability.
Key Responsibilities: Troubleshooting & Analysis: Analyze and troubleshoot electronic assemblies failing in production or returned from the field. Root Cause Investigation: Perform root cause analysis on hardware, firmware, and manufacturing-related issues. Lab Equipment Utilization: Use lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, thermal cameras, and power analyzers for debugging. Documentation Review: Review schematics, PCB layouts, test logs, and manufacturing data. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with hardware, firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers to implement corrective actions. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in production yield, product reliability, and failure detection. Test System Support: Support the development and improvement of production test systems and diagnostic procedures. Communication: Document findings clearly and communicate technical issues effectively to cross-functional teams.
Requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience debugging electronic hardware in production, repair, or R&D environments.
Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics, with the ability to read schematics and PCB layouts.
Familiarity with manufacturing processes for consumer electronics and root cause analysis methodologies.
Practical, hands-on experience with laboratory measurement equipment.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
Knowledge of embedded systems and communication interfaces (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART, USB, or BLE) is highly beneficial.
Nice to Have:
Experience working within high-volume manufacturing environments.
Understanding of reliability testing and advanced failure analysis techniques.
Experience with automated test systems or scripting (e.g., Python).
Familiarity with EMC/ESD related issues.
Experience working directly with suppliers or contract manufacturers (EMS).
Company offers
The opportunity to work with cutting-edge, internationally recognized hardware.
A modern working environment equipped with top-tier lab equipment.
A supportive, professional team that fosters personal and career growth.
