Job Description
The Estonian University of Life Sciences Equine Clinic is looking for
one FULL-TIME VETERINARY NURSE

- Experienced medicine specialists, surgeons, nurses, and support people working with you.
- The position is Full-time and entails working in the clinic during the week (Monday to Friday 7.30am-4pm) and after-hours. The working hours are schedule-based.
Assignments include:
- assisting the veterinarian during procedures in or outside the clinic;
- routine care of hospitalized patients;
- administering treatments as instructed by the veterinarian;
- making sure that the clinic looks clean and presentable;
- laboratory analyses;
- on-calls during the nights, holidays, and weekends according to the schedule;
- administrative duties for the equine clinic;
- work in conjunction with the receptionist;
- other task requested by the head of the clinic involving clinical, non-clinical and administrative duties of the equine clinic.
Requirements
We are looking for someone who:
- *have prior experience working with horses (essential);
- have a very good knowledge of English;
- have the ability to endure long working hours, handle stress and cope well in a fast-paced environment;
- have good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, reliable and a team player with the ability to operate efficiently in a busy clinical environment and work to a very high clinical standard. Experience working with horses is mandatory. You will be exposed to all types of equine veterinary practice: hospitalized patients, equine surgical procedures (both GA and standing surgery), reproductive services and intensive care nursing including foals.
