Job Description
Data is at the heart of how we understand our business, make decisions and build for the future. As our data capabilities continue to evolve, we’re looking for a Head of Data to shape how data is governed, used and scaled across Inbank — and turn it into an increasingly powerful asset for the organisation.
As Head of Data, you will be part of our Finance unit, report directly to the CFO, and lead our four-member Data Platform & Analytics team. While the role sits within Finance, your scope is company-wide, with ownership of Inbank’s data, reporting and analytics capability across the organisation.
Within Finance, you will have end-to-end ownership of financial data and analytical solutions supporting management reporting, financial planning and external reporting. Across other business domains, you will act as a company-wide data architect and trusted advisor, enabling domain owners to build reliable, consistent and reusable data products.
You will own the Data Platform (Snowflake) and Business Intelligence ecosystem as products, setting the vision, roadmap and priorities while establishing common standards for data architecture, governance and analytics across Inbank. You will work in close partnership with the Data Platform Engineering Manager: you will own the what and why, while the Engineering Manager owns how solutions are technically designed, built and operated.
This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution. You’ll have the opportunity to shape Inbank’s data direction, strengthen trust in our data, scale self-service analytics and drive the adoption of AI across analytics, reporting and data quality.
What you’ll be doing
- Own the Data Platform & BI ecosystem as products, setting the vision, roadmap and priorities based on business value, in partnership with business and domain leaders, and driving adoption across the organisation.
- Lead and develop the Data Platform & Analytics team, with accountability for its direction, performance and quality of delivery.
- Partner closely with the Data Platform Engineering Manager to translate business priorities into technical delivery and architecture.
- Own and drive company-wide data governance and the core enterprise data model, establishing clear data domains, ownership, policies, definitions and quality standards, as well as consistent metrics, dimensions and KPIs. Ensure governance is practical and embedded in everyday ways of working.
- Drive the evolution of Business Intelligence towards AI-enabled self-service analytics, underpinned by a well-governed and curated semantic data layer.
- Act as the competence lead for analysts across the company, establishing common standards and best practices, strengthening the analytics community through training and knowledge sharing, and driving the practical adoption of new analytics and AI capabilities.
- Own the data and analytical solutions supporting Finance, including month-end closing, regulatory and external reporting, management reporting and financial planning, ensuring they are reliable, scalable and fit for purpose.
Requirements
- Significant experience in senior data, analytics or BI leadership roles, with a track record of building or scaling data capabilities in complex, organisation-wide or group-wide environments.
- Strong people and functional leadership skills, with experience developing high-performing teams, setting clear direction and creating alignment across business and technology.
- Experience defining and implementing data strategy, governance, architecture and analytics capabilities across multiple business domains.
- Strong hands-on data expertise, including data modelling, metrics and definitions, BI and data quality, with the ability to stay close to the detail while operating at a strategic level.
- Strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to understand business needs and translate them into scalable, practical data and analytics solutions.
- Experience in banking, consumer finance, fintech or a comparable financial services environment is strongly preferred; understanding of lending products and their economics is a strong advantage.
- A practical understanding of how AI can be applied to analytics, self-service BI, reporting and data quality, with an interest in turning emerging capabilities into real business value.
Company offers
- Extra vacation days after your third year, giving you more time to recharge and switch off.
- 6 weeks of fully paid sabbatical after 4 years of great performance at Inbank.
- Wellbeing support through sports compensation or additional health insurance to help you stay active and healthy.
- A flexible, hybrid way of working built on trust, autonomy, and accountability.
- Opportunities to learn and grow by working with talented colleagues, sharing ideas, and taking on new challenges.
- Regular team events and additional perks that give us plenty of opportunities to connect, have fun, and celebrate successes together.
