Supplier Quality Engineer

YOUR MISSION

You will be ensuring that the suppliers, as well as the materials, products, and components provided by suppliers, meet the company requirements standards and policies. You will play a critical role in maintaining and improving the quality of products and components sourced from suppliers, and the highest standard in the supplier base, ultimately contributing to the overall success and reputation of the company.

YOUR TASKS

• Supplier Evaluation: You will assess potential suppliers for their capability to meet company requirements, standards, and policy, including evaluating their manufacturing processes, quality control systems, adherence to industry standards, etc. Maintain periodical assessment and evaluation of the supplier base engaged.
• Supplier Audits: You will conduct regular audits of suppliers to ensure compliance with said standards and requirements and policy, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Quality Assurance: You will collaborate with suppliers to establish and/or develop quality assurance processes, including inspections, testing, and validation procedures, to ensure the quality of incoming materials and components.
• Quality Control: You will monitor and analyze supplier performance data, including defect rates, on-time delivery, and customer complaints, to identify trends and proactively address quality issues.
• Problem-solving: You will investigate quality issues or non-conformances identified in incoming materials or components, working with suppliers to identify root causes, and implementing corrective and preventive actions to prevent a recurrence.
• Continuous improvement: You will drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to enhance quality, reduce costs, optimize on-time delivery, and improve overall supply chain efficiency.
• Cross-functional collaboration: You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and peers, including purchasing, industrialization, manufacturing, operational excellence, and R&D teams, to communicate quality requirements, resolve issues, and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
• Risk management:  You will identify and mitigate risks associated with suppliers, including supplier capacity constraints, material shortages, and regulatory compliance issues.
• Documentation: You will maintain accurate documentation of supplier activities, including audit reports, inspection records, corrective action plans, and performance metrics.

YOUR PROFILE

• University degree, preferably in Engineering or another relevant field.
• Strong supplier quality, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in the field, with exposure to innovative and challenging industrialization projects, ideally in similar business areas. 
• Familiar with and have experience with Six Sigma, ISO, and PPAP as well as experience in statistical process control and lean manufacturing.
• Experience in handling and assessing an international supplier base with a global footprint.
•  Fluent in English, knowledge of other languages is a plus. 
•  Analytical skills, ability to see the bigger picture.
