Safety Manager

The main responsibilities for the position will be:

• Drive the mill Safety Action plan to be prioritized by the Mill Director
• Active member of the Mill management team
• Minimum 80 % of working time is allocated to Safety and possibly IMS for the remainder time
• Lead the implementation and development of the processes of Safety Toolbox 2.0
• Coordinate Safety audits and inspection of facilities, machinery and Safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards and to ensure Safety regulation compliance
• Support investigation of accidents, near-miss incidents and occupational injuries to determine causes and install preventive measures
• Coordinate employee Safety reporting and programs, including review of short and long term strategic Safety planning and development
• Enforce compliance of the rules and regulations that applies for the mill based on:
  • Applicable local safety laws and regulations
  • Group and division Safety procedures
  • Output and findings from e.g risk assessments and incident investigations  
• Spends his/ her working time 50 % minimum in the mill e.g. training, observing, coaching and investigating

Requirements for the applicants:

• Bachelor degree and professional education or similar
• Either 3-5 years of field Safety experience or working in a role in operations with very strong connection to Safety Management
• Estonian and English, due to networking and training personnel in start-up phase
• Knowledge about best Safety practices, leading continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks and the ability to raise Safety awareness
• Thorough knowledge of applicable regulations and rules
• Very good know how of MS Office and Outlook
• Knowledge about Integrated Management Systems
• Ability to build trust and confidence with management and employees on all levels
• Comprehensive view with excellent analytical skills and persistence in order to get things done
• Ability to cooperate, having a natural interest to involve people and support others

• Excellent and clear communication
• Accuracy and a quality-oriented mindset
