Product Design Manager

Occasional remote work possibility

Job Description

About Bolt

Bolt is shaping a future where cities are built for people, not cars. What started as an ambitious project of a 19-year-old in 2013 has grown into a global mobility platform used by more than 200 million customers and 4.5 million driver and courier partners across 50 countries.

From ride-hailing and food delivery to scooters, e-bikes, and car-sharing, Bolt helps people move through cities every day. Small, autonomous teams drive this work, combining the speed and ownership of a startup with the scale of a global technology company backed by more than 1bn in funding.

And we're just getting started.

About the role

We're looking for a hands-on Product Design Manager to lead the Product Design team across four domains within the Incentives team: Bolt Plus, Rides Growth, Delivery Growth, and Merchant Ads. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute the design strategy, ensuring alignment with our business objectives.

This is a hands-on management role. As a Product Design Manager, you will act as a player-coach, owning the end-to-end design process and execution for the Bolt Plus team, while also managing and leading a group of Product Designers, supporting their professional growth, setting quality standards, developing a high-performing team, and driving the creation of exceptional designs across the team.

To achieve this, you will define and execute design strategies and principles, implement key initiatives, and establish the processes, frameworks, and best practices needed to enable informed decision-making across various products within the Bolt ecosystem.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Build and steer the vision for all incentives-related surfaces across the Rider app, Driver app, Food Consumer app, and client-facing portals, setting a high standard for design quality and user experience.
  • Own the end-to-end design process for the Bolt Plus design roadmap, delivering high-quality design artefacts.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing design team across the other three domains, supporting professional growth and development.
  • Develop and execute design strategies aligned with business objectives and user needs, using user research to inform and validate design decisions.
  • Collaborate with user researchers, content designers, product managers, engineers, product analysts, Brand and Marketing leads, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and constraints.
  • Establish and maintain design guidelines and patterns to ensure consistency and quality across projects.

Requirements

  • You have experience as a Product Design Manager, preferably within Growth teams at a fast-paced technology or internet-based company, and a proven track record of shipping digital products that serve millions of users.
  • You have an excellent portfolio showcasing various design works for mobile and web platforms, including user interface and user experience design.
  • You have proven experience managing teams and possess strong English communication and collaboration skills, making you a great leader.
  • You9re highly proficient across the Figma ecosystem, using it for UI, prototyping, system design, and collaborative discovery. You leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate exploration, prototyping and iterations.
  • You9re a highly creative individual who takes the initiative in finding solutions to problems and takes ownership of your work.
  • You stay up-to-date with the latest design trends and emerging technologies to apply this knowledge to your work.

Company offers

  • Accelerate your professional growth with unique career opportunities.
  • Enjoy a rewarding salary and stock options, knowing that as Bolt succeeds, so do you.
  • Take care of your physical and mental health with our wellness perks.
  • Celebrate 5 years at Bolt with a 1-month paid sabbatical to recharge.
  • Connect with colleagues at annual company events and smaller team gatherings.
  • Balance flexibility and in-person collaboration with our hybrid model, including at least 12 monthly in-office days.
