Jõelähtme Parish is located in Harju County, moving eastwards from Tallinn towards Narva. The parish is bordered to the north by the Gulf of Finland for 42 km. The long coastline is intricate and is accentuated by several peninsulas (Tahkumäe and Koljunuki capes and Ihasalu and Kaberneeme peninsulas) and several bays (Muuga, Ihasalu, Kaberneeme, and Kolga).
