ENGINEERING MANAGER - LOW VOLTAGE SWITCHGEAR

ESB-LVS is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Engineering Department and strengthen the way we plan, manage and deliver engineering work for low-voltage switchgear projects.

This is a leadership role for someone who combines technical credibility with structured people and process management. You are not expected to carry a regular hands-on design workload. Instead, your focus will be to lead the team, improve the system, guide technical decisions and ensure that engineering output supports project delivery, production efficiency, quality and customer expectations.

Your role

As Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of Electrical Designers and 3D Engineers. You will own the department’s resources, processes and outcomes, while acting as the technical authority for low-voltage switchgear engineering.

You will be the key link between Engineering, Project Management, Operations, Quality, Procurement and customers.

What you will be responsible for

• Leading, structuring and developing the Engineering Department.
• Planning engineering workload, priorities and resource allocation.
• Ensuring that project inputs are clear, complete and escalated when needed.
• Supporting engineers in technical decision-making and problem-solving.
• Reviewing, guiding and challenging engineering work when required.
• Improving engineering processes, documentation quality and release routines.
• Strengthening cooperation with Project Management and Operations.
• Reducing unclear handovers, late changes, repeated mistakes and rework.
• Supporting standardisation, reusable solutions and continuous improvement.
• Representing ESB-LVS in customer technical discussions when needed.

What we expect from you

You have experience in technical leadership, engineering coordination or engineering management in a manufacturing, electrical engineering, automation, power distribution or switchgear-related environment.

You understand how engineering work affects the full project lifecycle — from order intake and design clarification to production, delivery, installation and service.

You are comfortable working with:

• Low-voltage systems and electrical distribution systems.
• Single-line diagrams, electrical schematics and mechanical layouts.
• BOM structures and ERP-based engineering data.
• EPLAN, SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM.
• Technical documentation, revision control and production handover.
• Cross-functional stakeholders and customer technical discussions.

Your leadership style

You are structured, practical and ownership-driven. You know how to lead without micromanaging, and you are able to create clarity in a project-based engineering environment.

You are confident enough to challenge unclear requirements, calm enough to handle pressure, and collaborative enough to build trust across departments.
