Engineering Manager

Job Description

THE ROLE

You will coordinate the work of different engineering teams - from development of production technologies to structural design of the production plant - to ensure that the plans for building the production plant are ready on time.

You will work closely with the team of internal and external partners such as R&D, a team of scientists, the company’s management and communications team, sales partner and various technical solutions providers and design teams.

JOB PRIORITIES

  • Coordinate the work of different engineering and design teams and make sure that the work of different teams is aligned with each other.
  • Establish a framework for necessary contributions from various departments and facilitate their collaboration.
  • Collaborate with remote project managers to complete joint projects.
  • Identify various (potential) problems in early stages and coordinate the effort to solve them.
  • Assess the progress of engineers in completion of their projects, check the work of their teams for technical accuracy and validity.
  • Actively update and manage project plans to stay in budget and on schedule, propose budgets and equipment need for the project, review and recommend contracts and cost estimates.
  • Present and explain proposals, reports and findings to customers both internal and external.

Your role requires frequent traveling between Estonia and Sweden, but also to Finland and other countries to visit the suppliers and partners as required of the job.

Requirements

  • Master´s degree in engineering or a related field is required
  • Minimum of five years working in an engineering setting
  • Experience in and working knowledge of circular economy projects, material extraction from waste and/ or ash and oil shale are seen as bonus
  • Experience with hydrometallurgical processes, water-based extraction process and mineral and water mixtures will make working with us easier
  • Professional work experience in production of PCC is an advantage
  • Demonstrable knowledge of engineering processes and technologies
  • Extensive experience as an engineering manager in the industry is much valued
  • Interpersonal skills to coordinate the work of different outsourced and inhouse teams of engineers
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability in a production setting
  • Out-of-box thinking and willingness to break status quo
  • Thriving in „start-up culture“ and ability to handle uncertainty
  • Experience in agile process management
  • Ability to create a set of qualifications for a product/ process
  • Project development and leadership skills are essential
  • Great analytical skills
  • Ability to give constructive criticism
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to make decisions quickly
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • English C1, Estonian and Swedish language skills are seen as bonus
