Job Description

We are looking for an ENERGY PRICING ANALYST to join our Pricing and Analytics Unit @ENEFIT. The main goal of our unit is handling a diverse range of responsibilities in the energy market, concerning Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) origination, energy products risk management, managing electricity and gas market access, guarantees of origin, conducting market analytics and reporting, and developing price forecasting models entails a multifaceted approach.

It depends on you! As ENERGY PRICING ANALYST your primary responsibility is to analyse electricity market trends, dynamics, and factors influencing pricing to provide valuable insights for decision-making. Here are the key tasks involved in this role:

• Stay informed about macroeconomic indicators, weather forecasts, fuel prices, and geopolitical events that impact energy markets;
• Develop and maintain electricity price forecasting models based on historical data, market fundamentals, and external factors;
• Develop customized tools and dashboards for data visualization, trend analysis, and scenario modelling;
• Validate and refine forecasting models using statistical validation techniques, sensitivity analysis, and expert judgment;
• Calculate value-at-risk (VaR), expected shortfall, and other risk metrics to measure portfolio exposure and assess risk-return trade-offs;
• Generate short-term, medium-term, and long-term price forecasts to support trading strategies, risk management decisions;
• Collaborate with Financial risk management, compliance teams to follow regulations, and internal risks policy. Implement control measures;
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including traders, engineers, and IT specialists, to integrate pricing insights into trading strategies and decision-making processes.

Requirements

• A relevant university degree (Econometrics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer science or a closely related field is an advantage);
• 2 or more years of relevant experience;
• An extensive experience with R, Phyton, SQL or other coding language (at least one language at advanced level of proficiency);
• A great communication skill in English (writing and speaking);
• A knowledge of financial markets (gas and power market experience would be an advantage);
• A knowledge in econometrics, data analytics or statistical analysis;
• The ability to explain complex subjects in an understandable way;
• Are self-driven, result-oriented and curious.
