Job Description

We are now looking for a Business Controller to join our UPM Plywood business control team. This position is located at Otepää plywood mill in Estonia.

What you will do

UPM has global finance processes and Business Control is a value adding function. Accounting and transactional finance processes are centralized. As a Business Controller, you are a member of the mill management team. You have an important role in local decision making and are expected to make a significant contribution to the mill steering to optimize the performance of the unit. You have a strong will to develop and implement finance related processes. You have good collaborations skills and eagerness to ask questions. You also have a will to influence and take a stand in front of the audience.

 

Your main tasks include

  • Master production efficiency, investments, variable and fixed costs
  • Ensure transparency of relevant financial information, as well as understanding of financial impacts
  • Enrich financial analysis and reports with mill-level information
  • Ensure compliance and harmonization with UPM finance processes and structures
  • Support local target setting and follow-up
  • Support the finance operations in monthly closing process and statutory reporting
  • Support and spar mill stakeholders with finance process knowhow
  • Develop our tools and analytics in co-operation with other members of the Plywood business control team

Requirements

  • You have a Master’s degree in finance or equivalent university-level education (e.g. engineering) and at least three years of relevant work experience
  • You are highly motivated and willing to grow
  • You have a broad understanding of various aspects of finance
  • You have solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • You have good influencing and communications skills and are able summarize essentials
  • You have the will to network on many levels of the organization
  • You are good with IT systems
  • You are fluent in Estonian and English
