Job Description

Coordinate the quality assurance and implementation of HSEC and quality programs so that all of the organization’s raw materials, in-process products, and finished products conform to technical specifications, perform reliability, meet internal and external quality standards and comply with all relevant regulations, licenses, waste management procedures, certifications, and other mandatory compliances. Adapt policies and programs to improve the organization’s environmental and safety performance. 

 

  • Coordinate a variety of Health, Safety and the Environment, (HSE) activities at all facilities (owned, leased, or outsourced) and all business units to ensure that the organization complies with external EHS regulations and standards. Ensure that Company workstations use the Process Safety Management System appropriately (SAPS). Lead and monitor implementation and adherence to processes and meeting of ISO 9000, ISO 18001 and ISO 14000 standards.
  • Control, and supervise correct application of the quality management and HSE programs and procedures to avoid accidents and incidents; follow up at the workstations to improve or maintain the HSE standards. Evaluate overall HSE performance at the workstations to identify recurring problems; research, evaluate, and recommend changes for improvement. Liaise with external suppliers to ensure that their products meet the organization’s quality standards and that the organization receives satisfactory standards of service.
  • Conduct safety audits and on-site inspections to identify workplace hazards and unsafe equipment, working practices or conditions. Investigate environmental and safety incidents. Coordinate and follow up on the Hazard and operability studies and risk analysis of the Company workstations with the local operational staff and external consultants. Provide technical expertise and advice on HSE issues to functional or operational areas managers to help them manage their HSE responsibilities. Prepare reports and recommendations about changes that need to be made to organization’s operational processes, systems, raw materials, inputs, or vendors.
  • Review and follow up on the monthly safety reports of all workstations and risk database to propose improvement in the safety area. Attend at least in 1 safety committee meeting in every Company workstation per year. Update the emergency plans of all workstations with the Workstation Managers and review the improvements opportunities detected in the drill and brigades. Develop and deliver HSE and quality training programs and initiatives.
  • Provide guidance when needed to HSE and quality staff. Establish ISO accreditation in new affiliates.

Requirements

Experience

  • Experience in HSE and quality compliance management, with increasing levels of experience in a medium to large multinational, preferably in multi-cultural environments.
  • International HSE experience is essential, preferably on production
  • Auditing or implementing ISO 9000, ISO 18001 or AS/NZ 4801 and/or ISO 14000 certification.

Skills:

  • Undergraduate University degree in health and safety, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Safety or Risk management, environmental studies, or operations management; hazardous materials management certification preferred; post graduate university degree preferred;
  • Good command in English
  • Highly proficient in using MS Office

  • Ability to understand and apply local HSE laws and regulations.
