Job Description

We are seeking an Online Data Privacy Specialist to join our ever-growing team! In this role, you will be responsible for executing GDPR/CCPA audits and proposing the best solutions for compliance to our clients, defining requirements, and taking care of their implementation.

Main responsibilities

  • Performing privacy law compliance audits in terms of cookies and privacy/cookie policies (for EU-GDPR, US-CCPA/ CPRA, VCDPA, CPA, Canada - PIPEDA, etc.) for web businesses (eCommerce sites and content websites)
  • Review and analyze cookie placement mechanisms
  • Work with cookie management tools (implementation, setup, and updating) such as Amasty GDPR Module, CookieBot, and OneTrust
  • Set up and update data tracking (cookies) via GTM (Google Tag Manager)
  • Tracking and preparing alerts and presentations on data privacy legal updates
  • Communicate with clients to understand their needs and present tailored solutions. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing any issues or concerns they may have
  • Professional development in the field of GDPR and data protection, staying up-to-date with the latest trends, regulations, and best practices

Requirements

Desired background and skill-set

  • Knowledge of data protection and privacy laws and regulations (e.g. EU-GDPR, US-CCPA/ CPRA, VCDPA, CPA, Canada - PIPEDA, etc.)
  • Experience in the e-commerce industry, with knowledge of the specific challenges and considerations related to data protection in this field
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations that specifically apply to eCommerce (for example, use of cookies, personal data compliance)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to think strategically and anticipate potential compliance issues
  • Knowledge of tools and technologies used in eCommerce, such as website analytics
  • Confident spoken and written English
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills as the role will involve interacting with clients and providing guidance and advice
  • You do your research, take notes, and document everything
  • Willingness and dedication to learn new things to grow professionally and personally

Bonus points (not required)

  • Previous experience working with data protection and privacy laws and regulations (e.g. EU-GDPR, US-CCPA/ CPRA, VCDPA, CPA, Canada - PIPEDA, etc.)
  • Experience in the e-commerce industry, with knowledge of the specific challenges and considerations related to data protection in this field
  • Understanding of data tracking and analytics
  • A legal background, a degree in law, and/or a relevant certification
