System / DB Administrator & Tech Support Agent

A fast growing software-as-a-service company is looking for a:

System / DB Administrator & Tech Support Agent. If you consider yourself a developer and not a sysadmin, this offer still applies to you.

Responsibilities: 

* System administration / maintenance of multiple similar UNIX servers, each hosting an independent instance of our software platform 

* Technical support tasks, specific to the SaaS services offered (more details available to candidates) 

* General help with IT tasks that require a dev/sysadmin background 

* Some coding work, if you're up to it. We have coding work for various skill levels, mostly involving PHP, SQL and JS/TS.

This is not a typical 9-to-5 office job:

You don't have to work full 8 hour days. How does 4-5 hours sound, with some days without work at all? You will be working remotely (most of the time) and with flexible hours.

There could be days without any tasks, but...You are expected to be highly available in case on urgent situations. Our clients require 24/7 uptime and error-free operation from our software/servers. Sometimes things don't go as planned, therefore being able to pick up the phone at 5 AM in the morning to do an urgent bit of work - is part of the job.

* Excellent communication skills (English) 

* 7+ years of experience in Linux system administration and software development 

* Very good understanding of relational databases like MySQL/MariaDB and PostgreSQL 

* Very good understanding of PHP and JavaScript/TypeScript 

* Good understanding of version control tools such as Git 

* Good understanding of IT security 

* Experience with the NGINX web server 

* Experience with modern development/release tools/pipelines  * Good work ethics

Bonus: 

* Work experience in a Forex trading or Crypto trading related company 

* Work experience with high availability / mission critical systems

* Work environment with little to no micromanagement

Monthly compensation (could get higher depends on what you can do for us):

* €4,000 - €5,000 net salary  or 

* €5,000 - €6,500 gross salary  or 

* €7,000 - €8,500 B2B invoice
