Quality Manager

Job Description

In this role you will drive all quality activities at the mill, across all processes and products. You will ensure that all processes, products and services meet Stora Enso internal quality requirements, customer expectations and product standard requirements.

 

You will coordinate the activities required to meet these quality standards, including:

  • Monitoring and advising on the performance of the quality management system
  • Producing data and reporting on performance of all production lines on the site
  • Leading the Site Quality Team* with regular follow-up and analysis to ensure the fulfilment of quality requirements and KPI’s
  • Measuring against set standards
  • This position has also a key role in management system development and audits
  • Line management responsibilities as required by the site

 

 

The main responsibilities will be:

  • Establishing and updating quality procedures, standards and specifications
  • Reviewing customer requirements and making sure they are met
  • Leading the Site Quality Team* to ensure that agreed actions are carried out and their effectiveness reviewed
  • Continuously developing site quality culture so that everyone feels responsible for quality
  • Performing quality audits and inspecting production lines and facilities, machinery and equipment to identify and correct potential risks and to ensure quality compliance
  • Monitoring performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical analyzes and reports
  • Leading the investigation of customer claims to determine causes, corrective and preventive measures;
  • Striving for continuous improvement to develop and optimize quality process management for all stakeholders through the whole value chain
  • Implementing the product control plan, technical control plan and backup plan
  • Process and guideline development aligned with divisional and group guidelines, ISO 9001 standard
  • Leading site actions for the new and existing product certification process
  • Working with purchasing to establish quality requirements for external suppliers and subcontractors
  • Assessing whether employees need training to improve quality competence
  • Providing technical advice, coaching, guidance and mentoring to employees on quality initiatives and necessary changes
  • Participation in internal and external audits and support the other mills
  • Raising quality issues and concerns with site management and divisional quality management
  • Systematic follow-up and implementing laws and regulations through annual action plan

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of practical experience within the wood processing industry
  • Technical expertise in wood products, including manufacturing methods and quality requirements
  • Deep understanding of quality systems
  • Strong knowledge of customers and product use
  • Excellent planning and organization
  • Strong communication skills
  • To be persistent, systematic and drive for results, gets things done
  • Comprehensive view with excellent analytical skills
  • Good written and verbal local language
  • Good English skills
