Software Quality Engineer

As our customer base is expanding and we are involved in large scale strategic partnerships around the world, we are looking for great quality engineering knowledge to help us scale, extend, and evolve our infrastructure, so that we can continue offering wide selection of payment services to very large user-bases.

We are a flexible and agile team and you will play an integral part in our engineering organization, where you have great opportunities for growth, taking responsibility and delivering great products.

Your main role will be in building and leading the quality engineering team, a core group of people who are passionate about processes and tools that ensure the quality standards and best practices for all Fortumo software. Your strengths are in understanding the quality and tools needed to provide that, in motivating and building focused and well performing teams and in communication with the rest of the company to understand the needs and requirements for the area.

Your day-to-day:
•building and staffing the quality engineering team, based on the long term strategy of Fortumo
•working with engineering and product management identifying overall needs to meet the quality standards in Fortumo
•work together with the core engineering, identifying the needs of the development teams and planning the implementation
•decide and deliver tools and processes required to ensure the high quality of all Fortumo software in all disciplines (from front-end to back-end)
•have a strong say on the technology choices that others need to follow in areas of testing their code and making it high performance
•help developers in other teams to understand the requirements for testing and help them to test their own code
•build our continuous integration and deployment infrastructure and help making it part of the everyday development cycle

•have experience in leading the software development teams, preferably in quality related areas
•have good communication skills, a lot of the work involves discussions with external parties
•be deeply knowledgeable on testing methodologies and their impact on software quality
•have good understanding on continuous integration and deployment
•know how to motivate people and make them work for in agile and rapidly changing environments
•be proficient in any of Python, C/C++, PHP, Ruby, Java
•know systems which are highly distributed and cater for high load low latency environments
