Job Description

The Royal Danish Embassy in Tallinn is working as a shared service center for the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) handling monthly and quarterly closing procedures, registering of incoming invoices and guidance of local missions while working in close co-operation with the Danish MFA to service the Danish Missions in Europe.

The Danish MFA is looking for a new colleague to join the Danish Embassy in Tallinn, in order to strengthen our current team in connection with increasing the number of missions in our service portfolio.
You will need the ability to think independently together with good co-operation skills as we both have individual tasks and work as a team. Your tasks will primarily include:
- Prepare the quarterly closing by following procedures in order to facilitate a closing meeting with the respective responsible ambassadors
- Perform monthly closing procedures in order to make sure that the quarterly closing can run smoothly
- Guidance to the missions we are servicing in how to handle open postings or non-routine transactions
- Co-operation with the MFA’s Finance Department in Copenhagen in regard to the onboarding phase of new missions and general knowledge sharing

Requirements

You will be part of the staff of the Danish Embassy in Tallinn where the working language is English. Apart from an interest in accounting - and at least some years of experience in the private or public sector in Estonia or elsewhere - we expect you to:

- Have a general flair for IT, and an ability to learn new systems fast
- Be fluent in English and in Danish or Estonian, and it will be a plus if you have knowledge of other of the big European languages – especially French
- Preferably have knowledge of Navision

As a person, you are responsible, have an eye on details but also consider the big picture when making decisions. Furthermore we expect you to be:

- Motivated, able to work independently and take initiative
- Diligent and good at prioritizing your work - even in stressful situations
- Flexible and willing to help your colleagues
- A good communicator and team player

We expect you will join us 1 February 2019.

Employment conditions
You will be working as a local employee at the Royal Danish Embassy on Wismari 5 in Tallinn. The gross salary level is expectedly between 1.500 to 2.000 EUR depending on amongst other things experience and educational background. The workweek at the Embassy is 37 hours per week with the daily lunch break (30 minutes) included in the 37 hours and five weeks holiday (Estonian employment rules and legislation will apply). Parking is possible free of charge at the Embassy compound and public transportation is close to the Embassy. Employment is contingent upon obtaining security clearance from Danish security authorities.
