Job Description
As Service Engineer you will provide technical service and support to new and existing customer networks - telecom and datacom. You will troubleshoot and resolve problems in order to stabilize and optimize customer networks. You will plan, design and optimize customer Fiber Access Networks, advise sales organisation. You will travel internationally and work in different cultural environments. You have a broad knowledge within telecom and datacom, covering hardware, software and network knowledge. You are self-motivated, with the drive to solve problems and expand your knowledge.
As Service Engineer your main tasks will include:
•Investigating and solving technical problems, troubleshoot systems that are in operation. Producing solutions to Customer Service Requests
•Participating in pre-sales activities and customer projects within your area of experience
•Handling of customer emergency situations and ensure Customer Satisfaction
•Configuring and integrating solutions in customer networks
•Acceptance testing of new solutions together with the customers
•Software and/or hardware upgrades
•Cross border work, incl attending customer meetings and presentations

Requirements
You should have:
•A Bachelor of Science in IT, telecom or equivalent, plus desirably some work experience
•Experience with technical trouble shooting
•Availability to travel (up to 50%)
•Good written and spoken English, written and spoken Russian is a plus
Technical skills:
knowledge and experience of:
•Fiber networks based on GPON, PON, P2P, WDM
•SDH/PDH protocols and standards;
•Basic understanding of mobile telephony systems;
•Experience of usage Network Management systems;
•Knowledge of OS Windows's family is wanted as well as knowledge of UNIX-based OS.
Human skills:
•Service and business mindedness
•Good communication & presentation skills
•Able to work alone and in teams, also in a multi country environment
