RM has opportunities for software developers, systems engineers, software testers and telecoms development engineers with varying levels of experience, to join and contribute to high profile, strategic development projects.
We have opportunities for C# developers to work on large-scale and high profile technical solutions such as RM Easymail and the RM.com website. You will have ownership of the whole solution, managing development projects from design to implementation. The roles will involve taking responsibility for high-level design, and subsequently planning and project managing the development process. For lead roles, you will be managing a small team of engineers through the development process to ensure timely project delivery. The role offers hands-on development on varied and stimulating projects, typically using the Microsoft .NET platform, but with opportunities to work on other technologies such as Java and Linux. You will be working proactively to ensure that the team continues to deliver cutting edge solutions whilst maintaining best practice.
You should be of graduate calibre, with a strong background in full-lifecycle software development, and for lead roles you should be able to demonstrate experience of acting as the senior developer or technical lead on projects. Experience of formal methodologies would be advantageous. You should be able to demonstrate experience of developing on the .NET platform using C# / VB.NET / ASP.NET and Microsoft SQL Server. Exposure to technologies such as Java or Linux would also be beneficial. You will also have strong problem solving and team working skills and be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Systems engineers will design, develop and implement the integration environments used for large scale Windows network deployments. We also have opportunities implementing and supporting the technical infrastructure world-class innovative Internet-based solutions used by millions of users (spread across 8000+ customer networks with 250 significant routers / 750 servers / 18 data centres).
You will be of graduate calibre with significant server installation, configuration and support experience in both Windows 2000/2003 and Linux. You will have sound Cisco, TCP/IP and Active Directory exposure and a real interest in broadening your technical skill-set and learning new technologies. You will be able to demonstrate your tenacity and your creative problem solving skills and your attention to detail.
Telecoms Development Engineers
The Telecoms Development Engineer has a key responsibility to lead improvement projects which drive forward RM's telecoms model towards new technology and meeting business need, providing the company and its divisions with a competitive advantage. We are looking for someone who has hands-on experience of designing and implementing a new Cisco VoIP infrastructure, including an Enterprise Call Centre. With over 2000 employees in the business, across 10 sites around the UK, your main responsibility will be to troubleshoot issues on our current system and be actively involved with the design and implementation of the future Telecoms strategy for RM's business.
You should be able to demonstrate knowledge of Cisco VOIP Telecoms, and qualifications such as the CCNA, CCVP or CIPTD would be beneficial. In addition, you will be able to show excellent problem solving, team working and communication skills, good judgement ability to work under pressure in a live environment.
