Job Description
We are looking for a skilled System Administrator who will be working as part of the international distributed administration team and will manage production environment consisting of over 600 servers located in Vienna, Amsterdam, London and Manchester. The job requires high level of concentration to work within a complex setup of current systems and good understanding on how things are setup and ways they can be improved.
Requirements
o Self-motivated and detail-oriented Systems Administrator
o A minimum of 5 years of experience and thorough knowledge of Debian
o Required solid proven knowledge and real life working experience with BIND DNS, Perl and Shell scripting
o Sharp documentation skills are must have
o Must be willing and open to continuously improve and learn new technologies
o Be available and participate in a rotating on-call schedule supporting 24x7 operation
o Occasional travel may be required once or twice per year
o Good English verbal and writing skills are essential for this position
Big pluses (helpful):
o Prior experience working in high volume and high availability business environment
o Multilingual with prior experience working in distributed teams and international setup
o Experience working with: Varnish, Puppet, nginx, VSFTPD, MySQL, Memcached, JBoss, PHP/Java, Zabbix, Ganeti, DRBD, IPVS, Heartbeat, KVM.
o Prior experience working as a technical support engineer over the phone
o Knowledge and experience with OpenBSD, Gentoo, Windows (Active Directory)
