* to join its Mandate Unit in Helsinki, which is responsible for assessing to what extent the Bank's lending operations fulfill the Bank's mandate. NIB's mandate is to promote the sustainable growth of its member countries by providing long-term financing for projects that strengthen competitiveness and enhance the environment. The candidates´ work will be to analyze the impact of projects on economic competitiveness, at the corporate and the national level. Tasks will also include contributing to the development of the Bank’s methodology and a framework for assessing competitiveness. Work is performed in close co-operation with the Bank's Environment Unit, and with the Lending Department
Candidates should have a university level degree in Economics and Business Administration or similar and a thorough understanding of micro economics or business strategy/management. The position requires at least 5 years' relevant experience, preferably from a financial institution, international organisation, research institute or equivalent. Fluency in English is a prerequisite. A working knowledge of one of the Scandinavian languages is preferable. The position also requires very strong communication skills, strong integrity and a high level of individual responsibility.
