Sales and Merchant Success Associate

EAS is a global solution helping thousands of merchants simplify cross-border sales. As a market leader in VAT compliance, we manage IOSS, OSS and domestic VAT for everyone from ambitious entrepreneurs to global brands. Around 95% of our merchants are based outside the EU, the United Kingdom being our largest market, and we hold nearly 30% of the world's IOSS registrations.

IOSS is set to become effectively mandatory in 2028. Demand for what we do is not something we have to manufacture; it is arriving. We are building the commercial team that will meet it.

You will own commercial conversations with merchants, from first contact through to signed agreement and well beyond it: discovery calls, product demonstrations, proposals, follow-up and the steady, organised communication that keeps a merchant moving forward. You will work from a shared pipeline alongside the rest of the team rather than building and guarding your own book.

Selling does not stop at signature. The other half of the role is looking after merchants once they are with us. You will answer their questions, chase down what they need, keep them informed when rules change, and make sure their compliance runs without drama. That relationship is also where our growth comes from. A merchant who arrives for IOSS often needs OSS, domestic registrations or another EAS service six months later, and you are the person who will recognise it and offer it. EAS releases new services regularly, so you will keep current on what we have launched and take it to the merchants it suits. Technical and regulatory questions go to our specialists; yours is the relationship, the clarity and the follow-through.

This is consultative selling, not volume cold-calling. Our buyers are finance directors, operations leads and founders trying to work out what an EU regulation means for their business. Your job is to understand their situation, explain clearly what EAS does about it, and be honest when we are not the right fit. Deals are won here on clarity and credibility.

In practice you will:

  • Run discovery meetings and product demonstrations with merchants.
  • Respond quickly to inbound enquiries from the shared pipeline and qualify them properly.
  • Prepare proposals and commercial terms within agreed frameworks.
  • Support existing merchants with non-technical questions and keep their accounts healthy.
  • Sell additional EAS services to existing merchants as their compliance needs grow.
  • Keep current on new EAS services and take them to the merchants who need them.
  • Hand signed merchants to Onboarding cleanly, with the context they need to start well.
  • Feed what you hear from merchants back to Product and Management.
  • Represent EAS at industry events and online.

Requirements

Personality first. Merchants stay with EAS because our people are approachable and genuinely helpful. This is non-negotiable. The best people here are the ones merchants call back because they got a straight answer the first time.

Curiosity about the subject. You do not need a tax or compliance background. You do need the appetite to learn one. Our service only sells well when the person selling it understands the regulation behind it and can explain it in a sentence a busy founder will follow.

We are looking for someone with:

  • At least three years in B2B sales, ideally B2B service or subscription sales rather than product sales.
  • Knowledge or experience of e-commerce, preferably.
  • Excellent written and spoken English. This is essential. A large part of the work happens in writing.
  • The discipline to follow up consistently and keep records accurate.
  • Comfort working with merchants across time zones and cultures.
  • The judgement to walk away from a poor fit rather than force it.

Useful, but not required:

  • Another major language alongside English.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Shopify or WooCommerce.
  • Experience selling to or supporting customers in the United Kingdom.
  • A background in logistics, SaaS or professional services.

What we offer

  • A fixed salary of €1,600 to €2,500 gross per month, set according to experience.
  • A market that is growing towards you. IOSS becomes effectively mandatory in 2028, and we are already the largest provider in the field.
  • Merchants who arrive with a problem they know they have, rather than cold lists.
  • Full training on EU VAT and compliance. We expect to teach you the subject.
  • A hybrid role based in our Tallinn office, with remote work possible. We prefer colleagues in the office a few days each week.
  • Flexibility on working hours, as many of our merchants are outside European time zones.
  • Occasional travel to industry events and merchant meetings.
  • English as the working language across an international team.
  • Direct access to decision makers. We are small enough that good ideas reach the people who can act on them.
