QA Manager

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Manager with experience managing a team of software testers
As the manager, you will direct all quality functions for our systems. Your primary responsibilities include managing the QA team and coordinating product releases with Product Management and Technology. Day to day responsibilities involve planning and execution against functional requirements including regressions, performance and system integration. This is a hands-on leadership position. You will be required to participate in testing tasks when necessary to meet aggressive deadlines. The manager will provide regular direction, mentorship and coaching to QA team members. The ideal candidate is passionate about software testing and has made this their chosen profession. You must possess a positive, enthusiastic attitude, computer expertise, and good interpersonal communication skills. Candidates for this position must be self-motivated, organized, ability to handle multiple priorities, and have high attention to detail while establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Project Managers to review specifications, estimate tasks, size project releases and set target release dates.
- Lead all test planning, documenting and executing functional, systems, regression, performance, and load tests to uncover defects and improve the overall quality of the software.
- Identify and procure QA toolsets to enhance and extend the QA team’s capabilities and efficiency.
- Design and implement integration and functional test automation.
- Mentors and guides the Agile QA team as they integrate with development.
- Work with fellow QA managers to continually improve processes and procedures exercised in software development, and leading change management.
- Review release documentation to ensure traceability from product documents through test cases.
- Generate QA reports that clearly communicate QA results, concerns and project status with an emphasis on project risk, including defect rates.
- Provide quality metrics feedback to the manegement.
- Coach the QA team members to support individual learning needs and goals.

Required Knowledge & Qualifications:
- Knowledgeable of Quality Assurance methodologies.
- Knowledge of Agile Development methodologies.
- Knowledge of operating systems and relational database concepts. Proficient with relational databases and the ability to write complex SQL queries.
- Adept at identifying technical bottlenecks and potential software limitations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational skill with the ability to adapt to short deadlines in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment.
- Capacity to manage numerous projects, take initiative and drive decision making.
- Ability to create and execute functional test plans and test cases.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self motivated, strong initiative, flexible and good time management skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines, goals and objectives within assigned time limits.
- Detail oriented individual with an ability to learn new concepts and technologies quickly.
- Enthusiastic, team-building attitude and able to work with little guidance.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5 years experience in QA testing and software development.
- Minimum 2 years management experience.
