The Live operations administrator provides specialist support for the installation, configuration and troubleshooting of operating systems, standard components and custom Playtech application components. Responsible for looking for, detecting and fixing errors in software and informing the developers of the errors. Tools are the application code, database, logfiles and application administration web interface.
Experience of working in the field of IT at least 2-3 years (preferably as a system administrator or software engineer);
Knowledge and skill of programming (Java);
Knowledge of databases and SQL (Oracle);
Ability to use Solaris and/or UNIX-like operating systems;.
Experience with apache vhosts and troubleshooting apache errors;
Ability to understand and detect errors and to write fixes;
Comfortable working on the command line;.
Punctuality and attention to detail;
Good time management skills;
Ability to work under pressure;
Ready to take shifts as on-call specialist;
Good spoken and written English.
