Junior Java Specialist

Your job is to offer the highest level support for Playtech Java server applications. The daily work, consisting of 2nd level technical support requests and tasks from different technical projects, is to provide solutions for wide variety of problems. You are responsible for looking for, detecting and fixing errors in software and informing the developers of the software defects. Your tools are the application source code, database, servers’ and application services’ log files and application administration web interfaces.

- Knowledge and skill of programming (Java)
- Higher education in the field of IT (or being obtained)
- Basic knowledge of databases and SQL (Oracle)
- Ability to read the code written by others
- Ability to understand and detect errors
- Punctuality and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work independently
- Good problem solving and time management skills
- Good English (written and spoken)
- Good documentation skills

Beneficial skills:

- Experience with Solaris and/or UNIX-like operating systems
- Experience of working in the field of IT
- Java certification, SCJP
- Knowledge about shell scripting
- Experience in providing technical support or debugging applications (2-3 years)
