Job Description

LTH Baas is building up a research team dealing with future solutions for energy efficient ships. Economic considerations and environmental restrictions are driving the demand for better energy management onboard. Especially the waste heat recovery should be handled in more intelligent way. Therefore, we are looking for engineers with relevant ship machinery and/or heat technology experience to join the team and help reach the ambitious goals. While experience with ships is a plus but not a must, experience in relevant engineering discipline is necessary.

 

Job Description

The job includes

  • process and system engineering of ship (heat) energy systems
  • basic and detail design of ship (heat) energy systems
  • carrying out relevant calculations and creating technical documentation including drawings, reports and specifications that comply with standards, rules and regulations
  • communication with shipyards, ship owners and material suppliers for smooth cooperation
  • site visits, etc.

Requirements

A good candicate has:

  • education and work experience in relevant engineering field;
  • advanced AutoCAD (or other similar software) skills;
  • ability to read and create technical drawings, specifications and reports;
  • ability to create concept/basic design and carry out relevant calculations in his/her engineering discipline
  • ability to find relevant info about standards, rules and regulations;
  • good English in speaking and writing;
  • good communication skills;
  • enthusiasm and will to learn new things.

Additional advantages:

  • education and work experience in ship machinery and systems design;
  • Knowledge of piping and machinery design software, e.g. Aveva, PDMS, Cadmatic, NX
  • Knowledge of Estonian and Russian language
