To establish, implement, monitor, and maintain the policies, processes, and procedures of the organization with regard to marine personnel serving on board the managed vessels
To improve the efficient operation of the Crew Department by overseeing performance management, recruitment, training, and development to ensure high levels of engagement and competence.
To prepare the department budget, and monitor its expenditure, while ensuring the optimal utilization of all available resources to protect the Company’s interest.
To conduct appraisals and provide career progression and growth opportunities through sound performance management practices.
To engage with various external stakeholders (recruitment agencies, IMEC, unions, customers, etc).
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline i.e. HR/Ship Management/Business Management
At least 3 years of experience in the Maritime industry, general management or HR
Seagoing certification or senior role within a crewing department is not a requirement but is preferable
Knowledge of MLC, STCW, ISM Conventions, vessel management
Abilities:
Motivate, coach, and encourage personnel
Organize and focus on achieving the result
Work in stressful conditions
Communicate competently, undertake the needs of others, and answer queries efficiently
Fluent in written and oral English and Russian
