Job Description
The Human Resources Unit is responsible for the efficient and effective recruitment, development and training of Europol staff. One main task is the management of personnel and salary administration as well as the working conditions.
Purpose of the post:
Under the supervision and guidance of the Head of the Human Resources Unit, the successful applicant will manage and provide legal advice with regard to the personnel administration of Europol, thus implementing the Europol Staff Regulations and the rules and policies based on them.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
The post holder will mainly be responsible for both the personnel and salary administration within the Human Resources Unit, which includes the supervision of junior staff. More in particular, he/she will be responsible for:

General requirements:
Candidates will be considered for the selection phase on the basis of the following criteria to be fulfilled by the deadline for this application::
- be a citizen of one of the Members States of the European Union;
- law degree obtained from a recognised university in the territory of one of the EU Member States; a postgraduate specialisation in the law governing international organisations, international civil service law or public labour law of Member States of the European Union would be a distinct asset;
- at least 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience after obtaining the degree, of which at least three years in the areas of personnel administration, international civil service or similar, preferably in a managerial or senior position;
- detailed knowledge of the case law governing the European public service ("fonction publique") would be a distinct asset;
- experience in the administration of an international organisation and in the handling of internal requests would be a distinct asset;

Candidates selected on the basis of the above criteria will be evaluated according to the following selection criteria:

- scale: 6
- basic salary: EUR 5.562,82
- in addition, when relevant, family allowances can be granted::
- EUR 275,59 – per dependant child,
- EUR 898,69 – expatriation allowance.
- social contributions and taxes have to be deducted from the above-mentioned amounts.
