
Job Description
Working tasks include:
- To be key part in production equipment development process
- Co-operate with Automation Engineers, Mechanical design engineers, System programmers and other specialists to design low to mid-voltage electrical enclosures and systems for production equipment and production lines
- To design electrical cabling, wiring and communication/signal diagrams for developed equipment.
- To perform the work for CE or UL marking of the developed machinery (CE – European Safety marking)
- To write documentation for assembly, testing, maintenance and use of the designed systems
- To support with commissioning and installation of automation equipment
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Bachelor or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (preferable SCQF level >6)
- Minimum 3 years work experience in electrical design for equipment development, preferable related to machine building and factory automation
- Knowledge about the specification/design/integration of safety components (Estops, safety gate control, light curtains) within automated machines/lines
- Knowledge how to design following LVD, machine safety and Machine Directive
- Be familiar with various networking systems such as ModBus, Ethernet, ProfiNet, CANOpen.
- Have hands on experience in system installation and FAT
- Knowledge about other elements of automated production systems like 6-axis robots (programming) and PLCs (programming)
- Very good spoken and written English
- Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills, self-driven
