Job Description

Assist in the day-to-day operation of the data protection function here at Bolt

Manage the internal frontline service desk and help formulate and coordinate responses, where appropriate, to data protection queries from internal partners and employees

Develop proactive relationships with a vast array of teams from Human Resources and L&D, to Product and Engineering, to Marketing and Customer Service

Help draft and manage internal resources (training materials, playbooks, FAQs and templates) for our business stakeholders

Help the Data Protection Officer review products, features, and initiatives using, for example, Data Protection Impact Assessments, and provide advice consistent with legal and regulatory obligations of Bolt in 40+ jurisdictions

Draft and negotiate various data protection contracts and agreements

Help coordinate tasks assigned to our external legal advisors and other vendors

Help ensure that Bolt’s business operations are compliant through liaising with departments, undertaking surveys and questionnaires, and reporting back to the Privacy Team

Maintain the organisation’s Record of Processing Activity

To act as the Secretariat for the Privacy Team and, at times when required, to offer an executive support function to the Global Data Protection Officer

Requirements

If you’ve completed a legal qualification, such as a Bachelors, then great, but equally if you’ve a passion for technology and privacy, and the drive to succeed here, then this is the opportunity for you to go far

You have some experience, preferably in a regulatory environment, law firm or an international company, but what’s more important is a work ethic that’s second-to-none, a drive to learn fast within a world-class team, and to apply learned knowledge as a data protection practitioner

You must be interested in current affairs when it comes to a catalogue of issues in, for example, technology, product, innovation, ethics, privacy, surveillance and human rights, etc.

You are an excellent writer

You have an investigative streak and a skill for professional curiosity

You can make professional relationships easily and feel comfortable engaging with stakeholders from a multitude of disciplines

You are an analytical thinker who loves to solve problems

You can handle a fast-paced work environment, you’re agile, and can switch priorities in a flash
