Chief Accountant

As a Chief Accountant, you are responsible for organizing an effective and correct daily accounting for the company in accordance with Estonian legislation and company procedures and policies. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Ensure accuracy of prepayments, accounts payable as well as receivable and creditor/accruals accounting records
• If necessary, assist Income Audit as well as Front Office and Food & Beverage Team in reconciling back office systems with one another
• Control and track hotel inventories in cooperation with Purchasing supervisor
• Provide periodic reports to the Finance department
• Reconcile General Ledger accounts and review problematic accounts for hotel’s as well as owner’s accounts
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, submit monthly tax returns, statistic reports and prepare Annual Financial Report
• Carry out month-end as well as year-end closing procedure, including amongst others payroll checks
• Manage the performance of the Accounting team, including hiring, training, assigning tasks, giving guidance, monitoring accuracy
• In absence of Finance Manager ensure all reports, such as month end closing reports, monthly forecast reports or reconciliation reports, are processed promptly
• Participate in yearly external and internal audits

You are a suitable candidate if you maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

• University degree or equivalent in Finance / Economics
• At least two year full-service accounting experience
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English and Estonian with internal staff and external entities
• Strong working knowledge of Excel and accounting programs
• Ability to analyze large volume of complex financial information from many sources and create reports or forecast projections
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
