Chief Accountant

We're looking for a Chief Accountant (CA) to manage and oversee the daily operations of the Accounting team, to monitor and analyse accounting data and to produce financial reports or statements, to establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles. The CA is the main superuser for ERP to ensure the successful implementation of the accounting best practices. The CA is responsible for an effective collaboration and communication between all relevant parties, the Accounting, Tax, Legal, external providers and employees or other stakeholders. 

• Managing and overseeing the Accounting team by hiring, training, and motivating accounting staff members while supervising and delegating department tasks.
• Evaluating, developing, and improving department controls, systems, and procedures increase accuracy and efficiency.
• Participating actively in ERP implementation taking an active role as the accounting superuser, together with Workday ERP manager ensuring the implementation of best practices and processes, automatisation, user adoption process and training.
• Overseeing the daily activities of the Accounting team and ensuring that all major projects, month-end, and year-end reports are completed accurately and on time.
• Together with Technical Accountant ensuring that all accounting processes align with IFRS and current financial legislation.
• Maintaining accurate and complete financial records and being responsible for the consolidation.
• Participating in audits and reconciliations, as needed.
• Assessing current practices and procedures, and making recommendations for improvements
• Assisting other departments as they develop strategies, establish objectives, and make decisions which could have a financial impact on the business.
• Keeping informed about the latest developments in the accounting best practices.

• 10+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, a public company experience within the high-technology industry a plus
• Master's degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting or Economics
• Very good understanding of IFRSExperience with different accounting softwares and BI tools, Workday and Adaptive Insight is a plus.
• Strong understanding of different aspects of accounting and best practices in accounting
• Proven experience, with a focus on streamlining accounting processes
• Able to motivate the team and lead by example 
• Excellent English skills, verbal and written
