Job Description
Modern Georgian restaurant Lendav Maaler is looking for a skilled chef to prepare delicious meals according to our menu
An excellent candidate must be able to follow instructions/recipes in cooking and delivering well-prepared meals.
Responsibilities
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Do the necessary prep-work before the restaurant opens (Prepare ingredients to use in cooking, chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat, etc.)
- Cook food as instructed based on the recipe.
- Ensure that the presentation of dishes is in accordance with the restaurant standards before they are served.
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen, clean up after oneself, participate in the scheduled kitchen cleaning together with other chefs in the shift.
- Ensure all food products and other items are stored properly.
- Check the quality of ingredients.
- Monitor stock and place orders when necessary.
Requirements
- Minimum one year of proven experience as a chef
- Experience in using cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling, etc.)
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Ability to work in a team
- Very good communication skills
- Health and hygiene certificates.
- The candidate should be motivated, fast and responsible
- Knowledge of the English language is a must!
- A diploma from a culinary school or experience in working on Georgian cuisine will be an advantage.
- Baking experience and good knowledge of dough, in general, is a big advantage.
