Job Description

Rail infrastructure expert Proxion is looking for a CEO for its Estonia office

Founded in 2005, Proxion is a Finnish group that produces design, digital and training services. Demanding private and public rail infrastructure projects are a part of its core competence.

Proxion is now in the process of establishing a subsidiary in Estonia and is looking for a bold and visionary CEO for its Tallinn unit. The CEO will export competence through the Baltic countries to Europe-wide rail projects.

“The first task of the CEO of Estonian operations will be to recruit 20 experts and build an expert organisation with Proxion’s support. They must also draft a long-term strategy and action plan to expand the operations through Baltic projects to the rest of Europe. Furthermore, the CEO will actively participate in the development of all of Proxion’s operations as a member of the management team,” says CEO Timo Savolainen.

Requirements

We are looking for a person with a mission

Proxion’s operations are based on strong values and challenging traditional ways of doing things. Therefore, the CEO of Estonian operations must also be the right kind of personality, who feels strongly about the development of cleaner modes of transport.

“We are a reformer in the rail industry. Our mission is to use bold initiatives to make the significant growth of rail traffic possible. Developing the industry is more important than profit. Environmental values are important to us, and we are honest and reliable in our operations and support our customers in concrete ways,” says Petri Puikkonen , the founder of Proxion and Chairman of the Board.

The CEO must have a vision for building a bold and creative team of experts. They must be able to lead experts to improve in their jobs, create pathways for innovations, and guarantee a calm working environment.

“We appreciate a person who enjoys developing their job. Of course, competence in the rail industry is an advantage, but we trust that you can find the similarities between different industries quickly and internalise what is new effortlessly. You speak at least Estonian, Russian and English, and you are a skilled salesperson. Knowledge of the Finnish language is a huge advantage,” says Timo Savolainen.

The requirements are tough, but the CEO has the management’s strong support. Internal key persons also include Human resources and PR Manager Pia Haavisto , Baltic Area Manager Jussi Nieminen , and Business Director of Planning Mikko Saarinen .
