DevOps Engineer

Mercans is a technology company located in Tartu, Estonia. Our focus is on developing innovative cloud-based Payroll, HR and Recruitment software solutions.

We work closely with our parent company Mercans, a leading payroll and recruitment outsourcing services provider in the Middle East and North Africa region with clients like Uber, Adidas, WikiMedia, Harvard University, IKEA, Mazda, AirBus, McLaren and others.

Our main product is HR blizz. HR blizz is a web-based Payroll & HR system aimed at all level enterprises all over the world. Our goal is to make a payroll and HR system that just works – without the user having to be an expert on taxation and finance.

Our office in Tartu is modern, staff are friendly, and we enjoy daily matches of FIFA on our PS during our breaks after working hard. We are centrally located, so everything is at a close distance. Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team in Tartu or Tallinn, Estonia. As a DevOps Engineer, you will play an integral role in developing innovative cloud-based Payroll, HR, and Recruitment software solutions. While we prefer mid-level or senior candidates, we are open to all experienced applicants.

What you will be doing

  • Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying them to developers
  • Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
  • Managing Linux and Docker based instances in virtualized environments
  • Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
  • Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and fixes
  • Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
  • Planning projects and being involved in project management decisions

Requirements

We are looking for someone who has

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role.
  • Readiness to take initiative and establish DevOps processes from the start
  • Proven experience with operating CI/CD pipelines and related tooling as well as a deep understanding of DevOps principles
  • Automation focused thinking with skills to script/develop/debug integrations 
  • Knowledge of Agile development 
  • Experience with SQL, Docker, Ansible, Kubernetes and similar tools.
  • Experience with virtualized environments 
  • Strong documentation, time-management and problem-solving skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
