Equine Clinic veterinary nurse

The Estonian University of Life Sciences Equine Clinic is looking for a

VETERINARY NURSE

Be part of Estonia's only Equine Teaching Hospital, located in the beautiful city of Tartu. Experienced medicine specialists, surgeons, nurses, and support people working with you. The position is full-time and entails working in the clinic during the week (Monday to Friday 7.30am-4pm). After hours availability may be needed as well as possibility to work during weekends. The working hours are schedule-based.

Assignments include:

* assisting the veterinarian during procedures in or outside the clinic;

* routine care of hospitalized patients;

* administering treatments as instructed by the veterinarian;

* making sure that the clinic looks clean and presentable;

* laboratory analyses;

* on-calls during the nights, holidays, and weekends according to the schedule may be needed;

* administrative duties for the equine clinic;

* other task requested by the head of the clinic involving clinical, non-clinical and administrative duties of the equine clinic.

We are looking for someone who:

* have prior experience working with horses (essential):

* have a very good knowledge of English;

* the knowledge of Estonian is considered an asset but not a necessity;

* have the ability to endure long working hours, handle stress and cope well in a fast-paced environment;

* have good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.

Successful candidate will be enthusiastic, reliable and a team player with the ability to operate efficiently in a busy clinical environment and work to a very high clinical standard. Experience working with horses is mandatory. You will be exposed to all types of equine veterinary practice: hospitalized patients, equine surgical procedures (both GA and standing surgery), reproductive services and intensive care nursing including foals.
