The Financial Risk Specialist will work on all financial risk related matters including Liquidity, capital adequacy risks, Tax compliance risks, counterparty Risk, Assets investments risk, stress testing, recovery and resolution planning. The role sits in the second line of defence and reports to Wise Europe Risk Lead in Belgium.

 

What will you be doing?

  • Review the risk assessment and initiate yearly review with the business.
  • Secure a good level of awareness among relevant stakeholders concerning risk in relation to performance in the Asset Management in TINV Europe.
  • Monitor the process to secure compliance with internal steering documents and external requirements within the Risk governance. 
  • Identify areas for remedial action and potentials for improvement, recommending courses of action to secure continuous improvement
  • Supporting appropriate review, update, maintenance and approval of the Capital Adequacy Framework including the Internal Capital Adequacy and Risk Assessment document (ICARA).
  • Supporting appropriate review, update, maintenance and approval of the Liquidity Adequacy Framework including the Internal Liquidity Adequacy Assessment Process (ILAAP).
  • Supporting the review and update of the stress testing framework and scenario analysis for capital and liquidity.
  • Help in maintaining the governance and associated processes for the Group Risk Appetite and KRIs.

 

Other

  • Supporting governance related to risk event and incident management from a 2LOD risk perspective.
  • Help draft papers required for senior management / committee reporting.
  • Assisting 1LOD, regional risk teams and wider parts of the group where appropriate and necessary.
  • Liaise with the go up risk functions as necessary.

Requirements

This role would suit someone who has:

  • Experience in mid-level risk management.
  • Good understanding of systems, management information, and reporting systems. 
  • Demonstrated track record of second line of defence independence and challenge/ escalation where concerns are felt.
  • Effective in change impact, liaison with other functions.
  • Able to get stuff done - we’re a fast growing company and you will need an entrepreneurial mindset to thrive.
  • Can work independently and flexibly within a fast-moving environment.
