Job Description

We are looking for a shipbuilding Electrical Engineer who is willing to take up the challenge of leading complex cruise ships electrical installations (as new-buildings as retrofit) projects all over the world.

 

  • Take responsibility for engineering tasks and perform associated calculations.
  • Design new ways to use electrical power to develop or improve products.
  • Write and check calculation notes, analysis reports, specification of materials.
  • Develop maintenance and testing procedures for electronic components and equipment.
  • Evaluate systems and recommend design modifications or equipment repair
  • Analyze the needs of the technology and determine the requirements, capacity, and cost for developing an electrical system plan
  • Inspect electronic equipment, instruments, and systems to make sure they meet safety standards and applicable regulations
  • Plan and develop applications and modifications for electronic properties used in parts and systems in order to improve technical performance
  • To Follow/support the development of new and innovative technical principles, theories, concepts, techniques and processes
  • Confirming system's and components' capabilities by designing testing methods and properties
  • Researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials
  • Project Management: delivery, cost, operational schedule, reporting.
  • To prepare, checking, and coordinating the release of documentation to support system manufacture.
  • To analyze product design requirements and recommending alternative solutions.
  • To extrapolate ideas into product requirements and applying the philosophy of concurrent design to manufacturing processes schedules and budgets.
  • To strive for continuous improvement and teamwork in product development and processes.
  • Development and management of following documentation:
  • Preparation of feasibility studies.
  • Detailed engineering packages.
  • Detailed fabrication, drawings.
  • Communicate with material and equipment suppliers.
  • Support the commercial department: writing of offers, presentation.

Requirements

  • At least Master Degree in Engineering (Naval architecture/Ocean/Mechanical/Offshore or Marine)
  • 5 years minimum experience with a minimum of 3 years hands-on mechanical structure design and engineering experience
  • Competent in use of relevant codes and software.
  • Engineering software: AutoCAD or other design software
  • Experience with project management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, motion and control components
  • Good communication skills. At least Level B2 in English
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team
  • Good leadership, planning, organizing and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with a drive for results, improvement and innovation.
