Job Description

An international non-profit foundation is seeking applications from qualified candidates to fill a full-time position of  Civic Program Officer

 

JOB SUMMARY: Contribute to the planning, designing and implementation of programs related to strengthening of civil society, enhancing democratic governance, support of organisations on key-civic issues and enhancing women’s and other marginalized groups’ civic participation.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and implement civic programs for an (inter-)national audience
  • Builds a network of relevant civic organisations, social movements and actors
  • Follows up with partners and trainees via online consultations and meetings.
  • Provides support for local and regional program conferences, trainings, workshops and meetings; organizes major cross-functional workshops; organizes delegations abroad
  • Maintains collaborative relationships with international democratic development organizations, civic organizations and our network of volunteer trainers and experts;
  • Acts as back-up to team members not present. Perform other tasks, as necessary

Requirements

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Political science; Sociology; Management & Administration; Public Policy; International Relations or a related subject; 
  • A minimum of two to four (2-4) years relevant work experience in international development, community organizing, social movements, campaigning, organizational development or legislative affairs
  • Excellent language skills in English and Russian and knowledge of all modern social media applications and tools.
  • Ability to analyze trends and civic work, define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions, and the ability to think innovatively
  • And most  important: A great colleague with whom it is a pleasure to work with. No 9 to 5 mentality, but we respect working hours.
