Job Description

The role of the electrical and power engineers is to act as the owner’s technical representatives in their respective areas, for detail design, procurement and construction activities carried out by third party contractors to ensure that the plant is designed and constructed under required international standards and meets the technical requirement for safe operation.

Among other tasks the electrical and power engineers shall be responsible for:
- participating in the development of the plant and reviewing the proposed designs (including the link between the plant and electricity transmission network)
- participating, monitoring, inspecting and approving all electrical and mechanical test procedures (e.g. site completion tests), installation and commissioning activities of the contractors with regards to progress, compliance, codes, standards, quality, safety, etc
- providing reports and verifying work in progress
- conducting co-ordination meetings and maintaining records
- managing project documentation
- participating in developing operating manuals and maintenance systems
- participating in training of plant personnel

Requirements

- a degree in the relevant engineering discipline (electrical, mechanical, thermal)
- over 5 years’ experience gained with electrical or thermal engineering in a power plant or electricity transmission system
- power plant construction related work experience is a bonus
- quick learner with an interest in energy sector
- self-driven and able to work to deadlines and prioritize workload
- strong negotiation and communication skills
- team player who wants to work in a fast paced environment
- flexibility in taking on different roles as the project evolves
- write and speak English fluently
