Test Automation Engineer (Playwright/Maestro)

At Norrbit, we help build MERO - Eastern Europe’s fastest-growing beauty-services app, trusted by over 12,000 beauty professionals and managing 8 million bookings per year.

The technical complexity of the MERO ecosystem—spanning financial compliance, cross-application data flows, and a three-platform deployment (Web, iOS, and Android)—demands a dedicated specialist. We're not looking for a traditional QA; we're seeking a Test Automation Engineer to bridge the gap between quality assurance and development.

Your mission will be to architect, build, and maintain a stable, high-quality, and scalable test suite for all layers of our application stack.

What You’ll Be Doing

Your primary focus will be designing and implementing a comprehensive automation strategy. This is an engineering role, not a manual testing role.

• Build the Framework: Design and build a robust automation framework from the ground up, using TypeScript/JavaScript to integrate seamlessly with our React Native codebase.

• Mobile E2E Automation: Develop and maintain sophisticated end-to-end tests for our iOS and Android applications using specialized tools like Maestro or Detox, handling native components, gestures, and device-specific states.

• Web E2E Automation: Implement fast and reliable E2E tests for our MERO Pro web application using modern frameworks like Playwright.

• Risk-Based Architecture: Go beyond "happy path" testing. You will design tests to find critical bugs by focusing on edge cases, failure states, regulatory compliance risks (like fiscal bon issuance), and security vulnerabilities (like Role-Based Access Control).

• Ensure Stability: Act as the architect for a low-maintenance, non-flaky test suite 

You’re a Great Fit If:

• You have deep fluency in TypeScript and JavaScript.

• You are an expert in mobile automation with proven experience in Maestro / Detox or similar tools for testing React Native/Expo applications.

• You are highly proficient in modern web automation frameworks like Playwright 

• You think like a Test Architect, prioritizing maintainable, stable, and fast suites over brittle scripts.

• You have a risk-based mindset, constantly analyzing potential failure points and data integrity breaks.

• You have hands-on experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines

• You are highly detail-focused, analytical, and a proactive problem-solver.

• You have excellent English (spoken and written) — this is our working language.
